Aaron Brink, Colorado LGBT Club Shooting Suspect’s Dad, Says First Reaction Was ‘Oh God, Is He Gay?’
Aaron Franklin Brink revealed his first reaction after knowing his son, Anderson Lee Aldrich, was the suspect in a mass shooting at a Colorado Springs LGBTQ Club.
His 22-year-old son was accused of shooting five people to death and injuring 18 others at Club Q on Nov. 19 and a defense attorney told Brink in a phone call that Aldrich was under arrest.
“They started telling me about the incident, a shooting involving multiple people,” the MMA-fighter-turned-porn star said in an interview with CBS 8. “And then I go on to find out it’s a gay bar. I said, ‘God, is he gay?’ I got scared, ‘Shit, is he gay?’ And he’s not gay, so I said, ‘Phhhewww…”
“You know Mormons don’t do gay,” he continued. “We don’t do gay. There’s no gays in the Mormon church. We don’t do gay.”
Aldrich’s lawyer claimed Aldrich is non-binary and “they use they/them pronouns” in a court filing on Tuesday. However, according to the booking records, Aldrich’s gender was identified as male.
