A recent survey conducted by YouGov America has revealed that the majority of Americans, which includes a notable percentage of Republicans, support the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to remove former President Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 presidential primary ballot.
The poll shows that 54% of Americans approve of the court’s ruling, with even 24% of Republicans in their agreement.
The Colorado Supreme Court’s opinion, released on Tuesday evening, cited the 14th Amendment’s clause that prohibits insurrectionists from holding office as the basis for Trump’s ineligibility.
The court concluded that the evidence presented demonstrated that Trump had engaged in insurrection when he attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
While the decision has garnered praise from those opposed to Trump, it has also faced criticism, and some view it as an attack on democracy and a political maneuver. Still, the initial polling indicates that a majority of Americans support the court’s stance.
The YouGov survey, which involved 3,492 respondents, revealed that 54% of the country approved of the court’s conclusion, with 38% strong approval. On the other hand, a combined 35% either strongly or somewhat disapproved. Notably, a significant proportion of Republicans (24%) expressed their agreement with Trump’s removal from the ballot, alongside a plurality of independents (48%).
The specific question posed to participants in the survey was as follows: “Do you approve or disapprove of the Colorado Supreme Court ruling that Donald Trump can’t appear on the state’s 2024 Republican presidential primary ballot because his actions leading up to the January 6, 2021 takeover of the Capitol amount to insurrection or rebellion against the United States?”
This decision is expected to be brought before the United States Supreme Court, which will need to promptly issue a ruling on the matter.
Some people, such as Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley, have predicted that the decision will be overturned, while former conservative federal judge Michael Luttig has expressed support for the Colorado court’s judgment, and considers it the correct interpretation of the law.

You’re full of it thinking Americans want trump out of office. Stop spreading lies!
Hogwash.
BS. What is the respondents party affiliation? Of the 3492 how many were actually Dems and Rep? Of that number of Rep respondents, what is a "notable number"? Another bogus poll.
