Even after JAY-Z‘s new album 4:44 went platinum, 50 Cent reviewed it poorly on his Instagram page.
“I listened to Jay s–t, that 4:44, I thought the s–t was aight. I liked the s–t, but I’m gonna keep it 100: the s–t was too smart,” 50 complained in a video. “I felt like I was supposed to be wearing glasses and tie a f–king sweater around my waist. It was like Ivy League s–t.”
In the now-removed video, the rapper acknowledged that the album was solid, but that people don’t want to use their brains too much when listening to music. “I’mma tell you the truth: N—as is hot out here,” the post continued. “They don’t wanna hear that s–t. They just wanna have a good time. F–k that. You can’t be the best rapper at 47, because the new n—as is here.”
“I ain’t go’ hold you up. That s–t was like golf course music,” he added.
Future and Boosie BadAzz also responded to various tracks. In one, JAY-Z references Future’s ex Ciara, with whom he shares a son named Future. Ciara is now married to Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson Snapchat story, and JAY-Z points out that little Future now hangs out with his new step dad. Future responded on social media holding money up to his ear. This is in reference to a different line in a new JAY-Z song, though that was not explicit.
