Five different drugs were found in Tiger Woods‘ system at the time of his DUI.
The star golfer had versions of Vicodin, Dilaudid, Xananx, Ambien, and THC in his system when he was caught driving under the influence in May, according to the toxicology report. Woods pleaded guilty to reckless driving last Wednesday, and entered a diversion program that will allow wipe his record clean once he completes it.
Because the results are no longer part of an ongoing criminal investigation, the toxicology reports were made available by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Hydrocodone (the generic form of Vicodin), hydromorphone (strong painkiller commonly known as Dilaudid), alprzolam (mood and sleep drug known as Xanax), zolpidem (sleep drug known as Ambien), and delta-9 caboxy THC (component of marijuana) were the technical names of the drugs. It is unknown if Woods has a prescription for all or any of the medications in his system.
Following his arrest, Woods checked into a clinic to help him deal with prescription drug abuse. Last month, he completed his treatment. “As I previously said, I received professional help to manage my medications,” Woods said Monday in a statement. “Recently, I had been trying on my own to treat my back pain and a sleep disorder, including insomnia, but I realize now it was a mistake to do this without medical assistance. I am continuing to work with my doctors, and they feel I’ve made significant progress. I remain grateful for the amazing support that I continue to receive and for the family and friends that are assisting me.”
In the early hours of May 29, Woods was arrested after he was found asleep in his car on the side of the road near his Jupiter, Florida, home. He failed multiple sobriety tests but blew a 0.00 on the breathalyzer. Woods has had four surgeries on his back, with his most recent in April. He told police he was taking Vicodin and Xanax to cope with the pain.
