Thirty-two people were rescued on May 3 when a luxury yacht flipped over and sank off the coast of Miami.

Authorities responded to a call at roughly 5:00 p.m. from nearby Monument Island. All passengers were safely rescued and taken to the Miami Beach Marina by responders from the Coast Guard, marine patrol units and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Passengers on the boat were primarily influencers, and many were quick to share footage of the boat sinking on social media. In one post, people on board were seen attempting to save their expensive possessions, including MacBooks, and Regan Hartley, former Miss America competitor, was filmed in a rescue boat cradling a $350 bottle of Clase Azul Gold tequila while someone quipped, “The baby is safe!” A video from model and stylist Lauren Nicole showed the influencers clad in life jackets standing on the sinking ship.

It is unknown who is the owner of the $4 million vessel.

Rachel Miller, a witness to the 63-foot-long yacht’s descent, told the Miami TV station WSVN, “We were just on the boat and we saw, like, a bunch of cop boats, like police boats, and there was another yacht that was flipped over, completely vertical in the water.”

“It was straight up in the water. It definitely didn’t look ordinary and it’s just very concerning.”

Bruce Maresh, another witness, reported to WSVN the moment he saw the capsize: “Something in the distance, it appeared at an angle, and the closer we get, you could tell it was a big boat.”

Authorities assured that the yacht’s remains will be removed from the channel and will not pose any danger to boaters.

There is no current insight into why the Lamborghini boat capsized, but authorities promise a full investigation.
