3-Year-Old Parker Curry Recreates Michelle Obama’s Look From Portrait By Amy Sherald
Three-year-old Parker Curry has gone viral after North Carolina resident Ben Hines posted a photo of Curry staring at Michelle Obama’s portrait while at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. Now, Curry has dressed up as the former first lady for Halloween.
Curry mimicked Obama’s portrait by Baltimore-based artist Amy Sherald by posing and wearing a miniature version of the geometric dress that Obama wears in the portrait.

Curry’s mother, Jessica Curry, shared the photo of Curry’s costume with BuzzFeed News, which was later posted on Twitter by their Breaking News, Deputy Director, David Mack.
“Ok everyone get ready to feel some FEELINGS,” Mack wrote on Twitter. “Remember Parker Curry, the toddler who was obsessed with @MichelleObama’s portrait? Her mom, Jessica, just sent me this Halloween update.”

Back in March, at the age of two, Curry went viral after being photographed by Hines, who captured the toddler gazing at Sherald’s portrait painting of Obama in the National Portrait Gallery in D.C.
Donna Hines & I made a pilgrimage today and we were delighted to wait in line behind this fellow art lover & hopeful patriot.
The image of Curry eventually caught Obama’s eye, and the former first lady arranged for the two to meet and have a “dance party.”
After meeting Curry, Obama wrote on Twitter, “Parker, I’m so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself…and maybe one day I’ll proudly look up at a portrait of you!”

“Parker talks about Michelle Obama every day,” Jessica told BuzzFeed News. “She lets people know every day that she is the one who met Michelle Obama and she is friends with Michelle Obama.” So, it came as no surprise when Curry told Jessica that she wanted to be Obama for Halloween.
From the help of Magnolia Lake Children’s Clothing, Curry was able to recreate the exact look from the painting. “[Parker] walked in,” Jessica recalled. “And she saw the dress and she was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ And I was like, ‘Do you like it?’ And she was like, ‘It’s perfect!’ Literally those were her words.”
Obama later discovered Curry’s recreation of her portrait painting, “You nailed the look, Parker! I love it!!!!” the former FLOTUS wrote on Twitter.

Curry’s younger sister, Ava Curry, acted as her police escort on Halloween.
