’24’ Actress Annie Wersching Dies At 45 After Cancer Battle

Annie Wersching, who was best known for her roles in the television shows 24, Timeless and Bosch, died of cancer Sunday morning at the age of 45.

She also was the voice of Tess in The Last of Us video game, which was just recently adapted into an HBO drama series. Neil Druckmann, the creator of The Last of Us, tweeted about her passing and shared a link to a GoFundMe set up for her family.

Actor Stephen Full, Wersching’s husband, said in a statement: “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”

Many people who worked with Wersching over the years also paid tribute to the actress, including her Timeless co-star Abigail Spencer and 24 director Jon Cassar.

After growing up in St. Louis, Wersching started her acting career in 2002 with a guest appearance on Star Trek: Enterprise. Her first major role was as Amelia Joffe in General Hospital. She then starred as Renee Walker in seasons 7 and 8 of 24.

She is survived by her husband and children Freddie, Ozzie and Archie.
