2024 Emmy Nominations Announced: ‘The Bear’ Snags A Record-Breaking 23 Nods

The television industry will honor its finest in the 76th annual Emmy Awards, and in a highly anticipated annual event, the 2024 Emmy nominations have been officially announced.

The nominees were revealed by esteemed actors Sheryl Lee Ralph of Abbott Elementary and Tony Hale of Arrested Development.

One of the standout narratives of this year’s nominations is the resounding success of FX’s culinary drama, The Bear. The series, which had already made a strong impression at the 2023 Emmys, has now secured a record-breaking 23 nominations – the most-nominated comedy series in the history of the prestigious awards.

In the drama category, the highly anticipated Shōgun series earned an impressive 25 nominations, which included recognition for its talented ensemble cast, such as Anna Sawai, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano, Takehiro Hira and Néstor Carbonell.

The Crown, the critically acclaimed drama series, received a well-deserved royal sendoff, with 18 nominations for its final season. The list also celebrates several new entries, such as the post-apocalyptic Fallout and the spy thriller Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which each secured 16 nominations.

To be eligible for consideration, all television shows, limited series, and made-for-TV films must have been released between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024. This period has seen the return of beloved comedies like The Bear, Abbott Elementary, and Only Murders in the Building, as well as the concluding season of The Crown and the highly anticipated Fargo and Shōgun dramas.

The final round of voting by the members of the Television Academy will conclude on August 26, just a few weeks before the highly anticipated Emmy Awards ceremony, which is scheduled to air live on September 15 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC. Audiences are eagerly anticipating this celebration of the television industry’s finest, as the nominees vie for the coveted Emmy statuettes.
