2022 SAG Award Nominations Announced: ‘The Power Of The Dog’ & ‘House Of Gucci’ Lead

The Screen Actor’s Guild has released its list of nominations for the 2022 SAG Awards, which honor the best performances of the year in TV and Film. The list of nominees was announced Wednesday morning on the SAG Instagram page, with Rosario Dawson and Vanessa Hudgens presenting.

Additionally, SAG-AFTRA has confirmed that the awards’ in-person show must go on after a virtual show last year. They are sticking with the show’s February 27 broadcast date for now. The show will be held at the large Santa Monica Barker Hangar to comply with Covid-19 spacing guidelines.

Jane Campion‘s western The Power of the Dog and Ridley Scott’s biographical drama House of Gucci led the pack of film nominations with three each. Many of the nominated film performances were for biographical or historical film roles, but a notable snub out of those was Kristen Stewart‘s performance as Princess Diana in Spencer.

Out of the TV noms, acerbic HBO drama Succession and feel-good AppleTV+ sitcom Ted Lasso led the pack with five nominations apiece. Other shows were right behind with four, though, including Mare of EasttownThe Morning Show, and Netflix’s phenomenon Squid Game.

Legendary comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short have generated awards buzz for the first time in a while with their comedy-mystery series Only Murders In The BuildingJean Smart had an incredible resurgence in popularity this year and is nominated for performances in both Mare of Easttown and Hacks.

The SAG awards will air simultaneously on TNT and TBS on Saturday, Feb 27 at 8 p.m. ET. A full list of nominees is available below:
