The 66th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Turin, Italy in May 2022.

Tulin will be the first Italian city to host the event in over 30 years. The city beat out Rome, Milan and other Italian cities who also bid to host the event.

“Turin is the perfect city to host the 66th Eurovision Song Contest,” said Eurovision Song Contest supervisor Martin Österdahl.

“As we saw during the 2006 Winter Olympics, the PalaOlimpico has all the necessary prerequisites to host a global event of this scope,” he added.

Italian press are reporting that singer-songwriter Mika and Italian TV host Alessandro Cattelan, will be hosting the event.

Italy was chosen to host Eurovision when rock band Måneskin won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam.

Since winning the contest the band has hit the top charts in the United States with their song “Beggin,” and have started an international tour.
