The 2017 BRIT Awards are awarded based on public votes, and this year David Bowie posthumously was granted two top awards, for British male solo artist and the Mastercard British album.
Emeli Sandé took home the award for British female solo artist, and Adele won the special BRITS global success award for her presence internationally. The 1975 won for British group
A horde of Americans also took home prizes, with Beyoncé winning for International female solo artist and Drake for the same in the male category.
