American Horror Story’s fourth installment is set to premiere in fall 2014, but the theme and final casting for the miniseries' fourth effort remain unknown.

American Horror Story Spoilers

Ryan Murphy, when pressed to reveal plot details for season four, offers hints but nothing more. For certain, all that’s known is that the season will take place in the 1950s and will be filmed in either New Orleans or Sante Fe. Also, contrary to a popular rumor that was circulating its way around the web, the season will not focus on the goings on of a circus – though that admittedly would have provided for some creepy story arcs.

“If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year. It’s a period piece,” Murphy told E! News earlier this year, when he squashed the circus rumor. “We try and do the opposite of what we’ve done before.”

Murphy also added that Jessica Lange – who along with Sarah Paulson is one of the two AHS stars to be confirmed for the latest season – will speak with a German accent and be reminiscent of legendary actress Marlene Dietrich.

Cast For AHS's Fourth Season

As for others participating in American Horror Story’s fourth season, the actors and creators are keeping quiet. Evan Peters, for one, would be more than happy to stick around on the show, which he’s been on from the start.

“I love the show and think it’s a great work environment with great people to work with and very challenging material,” Peters told Vulture, claiming he hasn’t heard whether or not there’s a part for him. “So I would like to continue doing it for as long as I can.”

Another actor who’d like to return to the AHS world is Chloe Sevigny. Though Sevigny currently stars on A&E’s Those Who Kill, she wouldn’t hesitate before considering a return to the horror series if Murphy had a role for her to fill.

Murphy teased me, 'Oh, now you're doing [Those Who Kill], you can't do ours,'” Sevigny told FEARnet.com. “I guess it depends if we get a second season of [Those Who Kill], and what happens with that. I love American Horror Story, and I love this show, so I hope I can do both."

Lily Rabe, who's been on AHS from the start, may finally be walking away from the show that made her a household name. She filmed a pilot for ABC’s The Visitors, an adaptation of the short story “Zero Hour” by Ray Bradbury. If the pilot is picked up, scheduling conflicts could make her have to chose between projects.
