The 2021 Golden Globes have moved into the Oscar’s original time slot after the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced that it would be postponed due to the coronavirus. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association released a statement on Monday that the Golden Globes are now scheduled for February 28.
While changes in the eligibility requirements, voting and nominations will be disclosed soon, there are some plans that remain the same. For the fourth time both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are going to host the award show in the Beverly Hilton. The Golden Globes will air from 5 to 8 p.m. Pacific time.
On June 15, the Academy took to Twitter in order to inform viewers about changes for the Oscars. The post read, “It’s true! Next year’s #Oscars will happen on April 25, 2021.
Here’s what else you need to know:
– The eligibility period for the Oscars will be extended to February 28, 2021
– Nominations will be announced on March 15, 2021
