Motley Crue announced the postponement of their reunion stadium tour on last week. The group would have been accompanied by Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Motley Crue shared the announcement on Instagram by posting a statement saying, “We wanted to continue to communicate with our fans and update you with valid information as it becomes available. The official decision has been made to move all 2020 North American Stadium Tour dates into the summer of 2021. The new stadium dates are being rescheduled, your tickets will be honored for all postponed shows and refund policy information will be made available shortly. Stay tuned, be safe and we will see you next year. Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.”

Poison and Def Leppard have shared the same statement on their respective Instagrams. Def Leppard captioned the statement, “Stadium Tour Update #StaySafe”

Originally, the tour was supposed to start this summer on June 18 in Jacksonville, Florida, but is has now been pushed back to Summer 2021.

On May 1, Motley Crue told followers that they were going to wait until June 1 to make the decision about the tour, prioritizing their fan’s safety first. They said on Instagram, “We wanted to reach out to all of our amazing fans and let you know that we’ve been hard at work preparing an amazing show. Our priority during this unprecedented time is to make sure that we are being as thoughtful and responsible as possible in the decisions we are making regarding The Stadium Tour and that we are putting the fans’ health, well being and safety first and foremost.”

The tour was not only a reunion for Motley Crue, but followed the release of the new Netflix series The Dirt which is about the band itself and their rise to fame in the 80s.

On May 12, Motley Crue posted about the show by saying, “Watch #TheDirt along with the Crüe & special guests on @netflix this Friday 5/15 at 4pm PST! Follow along with special commentary on Mötley Crüe’s twitter using the hashtag #stayhomesweethome 🤘🤘”
