Madonna Flagged By Instagram For Sharing Same False Information On Coronavirus ‘Cure’ That Trump Did

Madonna’s account was flagged by Instagram for spreading false information after she had shared a video that claimed authorities were hiding the cure to the coronavirus. Madonna captioned the post, “The truth will set us all Free! But some people dont want to hear the truth.”

The video showed a group titled America’s Frontline Doctors speaking on the issue of the coronavirus pandemic outside of the Supreme Court. Dr. Stella Immanuel from Houston, Texas is heard saying that she had cured 350 coronavirus patients by using hydroxychloroquine. 

Instagram had originally blurred out the caption and gave viewers a warning that the information stated in the post was false until it eventually deleted the post all together and flagged Madonna’s account. 

Many were shocked by Madonna’s help in spreading the misinformation and took to the comments to share their disappointment. Singer Annie Lennox wrote, “This is utter madness!!! I can’t believe that you are endorsing this dangerous quackery. Hopefully your site has been hacked and you’re just about to explain it.”

The video had been going viral and was shared and then subsequently deleted on both Facebook and Twitter. President Donald Trump had posted the video on his Twitter account and was banned from tweeting for 12 hours. 

Madonna has offered up controversial posts on her Instagram about the coronavirus before this. In March Madonna shared a video of herself in the bathtub on Instagram. She said corona was “the great equaliser.”

In May, Madonna revealed that she had tested positive for the antibodies. She stated, “So tomorrow I’m just going to go on a long drive in a car, roll down the windows and I’m going to breathe in the Covid-19 air.”

Madonna has been very vocal on Instagram to show her support for the Black Lives Matter Movement and her disappointment in the president. Last week, Madonna said about Trump, “Trump is slowly turning America into a Dictatorship and making our worst nightmares come true……………… Notice no eye contact with 🎥 camera Get the Devil out of the White House! We need to finally become the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. 🇺🇸 #vote #blacklivesmatter.”
