Actor Dennis Quaid and fiancé Laura Savoie eloped in Santa Barbara at a seaside resort on June 2. The couple exchanged traditional vows and Bulgari rings with their pastor, who came as a witness.

Quaid and Savoie were engaged last October and originally wanted to have their wedding in April in Hawaii and then hold a reception in Nashville. However, the coronavirus pandemic forced them to cancel these plans.

Quaid spoke to People about the small ceremony and revealed his feelings when he saw Savoie. He said, “Just looking into her eyes, she was the most stunning bride.” He added, “I just love who she is as a person. Her character, her intelligence, of course her beauty. And her point of view of the world.”

Savoie spoke on Quaid and said that she had “never met someone who is so in love with life. It’s like nothing can bring him down. Just getting to do life with someone who lives that way is inspiring for me. It changes my perspective and it brings so much joy to every day.”

Quaid posted a photo wearing a Hugo Boss suit alongside his bride on Instagram with the caption, “👰🤵💍.”

The two met in May 2019 at a business event. Quaid, who has now been married four times, explained that “it was love at first sight.”
