Brooke, 11, and Blair Harber, 13, victims of the Texas flood disaster on July 4, were reportedly found dead on Sunday, tightly holding hands.

The two sisters were staying with their grandparents, Charlene and Mike Harber, near the Guadalupe River, which overflowed from torrential rains throughout the weekend. Floodwaters swept through their neighborhood in Hunt on Friday morning. Blair and Brooke were found dead 15 miles away in the town of Kerrville.

Brooke and Blair’s aunt Jennifer Harber posted a GoFundMe page for the girls’ family, writing, “If you’re able to donate, any amount will make a meaningful difference and would be deeply appreciated by the family. If donating isn’t possible right now, please consider sharing their story and keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.”

In the caption, Jennifer shared that parents RJ and Annie had gone to check on their daughters, Charlene and Mike, as conditions grew more dangerous, but the water prevented them from reaching each other. As RJ and Annie searched for a way to get to the family, Brooke texted family, “I love you.”

Jennifer wrote, “When they were found, their hands were locked together.”

After explaining the complicated and terrifying experience in a lengthy paragraph, Jennifer wrote, “What RJ and Annie went through that morning was a nightmare. They were rescued that afternoon, but were stuck in the Hunt. The Coast Guard couldn’t even get to them. Annie was rescued by helicopter, and I think RJ attempted another way earlier to get help.”

She continued, “Brook and Blair will have a joint funeral at St. Rita. To be determined. We haven’t even had time to figure out my parents. We need to find them first. We are beyond devastated and so heartbroken. Prayers are much appreciated, and what we needed at this time. Please help us find my parents so we can have closure and bring them home.”

The bodies of Mike and Charlene have not yet been recovered. Jennifer asked for prayers and help finding them.

More than 119 people have died from the flash floods through the Fourth of July weekend, and over 100 are missing.
