Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky left the White House early on Friday, following a heated meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Footage showed Zelensky stepping into a vehicle shortly after the exchange. In the meeting, Trump and Vance lashed out at Zelensky and accused him of disrespecting them. Vance accused Zelensky of failing to be thankful enough to the president and hosting “propaganda tours” of Ukraine for foreign officials. Zelensky repeatedly tried to reply and defend his position, but was largely talked over by both Vance and Trump, with Trump angrily mocking the Ukrainian president for rejecting ceasefire proposals. Several minutes after the White House uploaded this footage, Zelensky posted a message to X thanking America. “Thank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you @POTUS, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that,” Zelensky wrote. (Credit: Margo Martin via Storyful)
