The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon has revealed his narcissistic personality disorder diagnosis.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a mental health condition in individuals that results in a perception of exaggerated self-importance. People with the disorder tend to have trouble forming relationships as they frequently lack empathy for others.

“I still don’t understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested for it,” he told People. “I did a bunch of tests.”

He explained, “I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD. Even as a kid, it was dyslexia, but just knowing that I’m just a neurodivergent individual, I kind of always knew.”

“I feel like there’s so many labels out there, but it’s like, to be able to embrace it and say, ‘Look, I’m healing. I need help. Show me,'” he said. “I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way… To be able to say I’m an example for others, but also to be healing during the self-process works, too.”

Cannon opened up about his official diagnosis earlier this month on Nov. 8 in conversation with guest Dr. Cheyenne Bryant in his podcast Counsel Culture. In the episode, he explained that he could pinpoint all the classic “markers” of the disorder in himself.

He said in the podcast, “I’ve taken all the power away from the term narcissism because I’ve researched it, and I understand it…Call me whatever you want…not if I didn’t know what it was, then I have an issue with it.”

Earlier this year, Cannon’s son Zillion, 2, was diagnosed with autism. Cannon announced the diagnosis on Instagram on April 2, which is World Autism Awareness Day.

The post’s caption read, “Today our family recognizes World Autism Awareness Day, which is beyond meaningful to us because our amazing two-year-old, Zillion, was recently diagnosed with ASD — joining the unique energy of others like Niko Telsa [sic], Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and Michelangelo, just to name a few dynamic individuals.”

The statement continued, “Our beautiful boy experiences life in 4D and teaches us something new every day! We are blessed that God has placed such an amazing spirit under our guardianship, and we have accepted this assignment wholeheartedly!”
