Kanye West Accused Of ‘Choking & Gagging’ ‘ANTM’ Alum Until She ‘Blacked Out’ In New Lawsuit
Kanye West has been accused of assaulting America’s Next Top Model alumna Jenn An during a 2010 music video shoot, according to a new federal lawsuit.
An alleges the rapper, 47, choked and gagged her until she lost consciousness, describing the incident as fulfilling “fetishes” rather than a professional music video shoot.
An is suing West and Universal Music Group (UMG) for gender-motivated violence, claiming the alleged assault occurred during the production of a music video for the song “In for the Kill” by LaRoux at New York City’s Chelsea Hotel. West, who appeared on a remix of the track, and An were ultimately not seen in the video’s final version.
In court documents, An alleges that West selected her from a lineup, reportedly saying: “Give me the Asian girl.” She was then dressed in skimpy lingerie for the shoot, where she claims West made comments such as: “That’s why I chose you.”
The lawsuit asserts that West seated An on a chair, instructed the director to focus the camera on her, and then choked her. An claims he “smothered” her face with his hands, “rammed several fingers down her throat, continuously moved them in and out, and gagged her to emulate forced” relations for over a minute. She alleges that during the incident, West shouted: “This is art. This is art. I am like Picasso.”
An further alleges that LaRoux later told a friend she witnessed “upsetting, unsettling” behavior during the shoot.
Universal Music Group, also named as a defendant, is accused of attempting to “bury” the incident along with other “high-profile figures” in the music industry.
This lawsuit surfaces amid numerous legal challenges facing West.
Last month, his former assistant Lauren Pisciotta amended a prior lawsuit to accuse West of drugging and attacking her at a party hosted by Sean Combs. Pisciotta’s lawsuit also includes claims of wrongful termination, unpaid severance and allegations of West expressing fascist views and engaging in misconduct at parties.
