Oasis co-founder Liam Gallagher was not amused after Saturday Night Live’s sketch parodied the infamous fight between him and his brother, Noel Gallagher.

The Oasis frontman responded to tweets about the sketch, which featured James Austin Johnson as his brother, bandmate Noel and Sarah Sherman as himself.

After a fan questioned Gallagher’s thoughts about the bit, he replied on X, calling it “Excruciating.”

In an additional response, the singer added, “I wouldn’t expect anything else from them,” and “Are they meant to be comedians?”

In the “Weekend Update” skit, SNL cast members Johnson and Sherman were bickering while using exaggerated English accents.

However, only some things were disputes. For extra comedic effect, the skit’s brothers agreed that Sex and the City character Mr. Big is a “toxic legend,” along with cartoon favorites like SpongeBob SquarePants, Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Tommy Pickles from Rugrats are also “legends.”

During Oasis’ prime, the Gallagher brothers were known for their intense feuds throughout the 1990s. Their public disagreements continued until 2009, when Noel, the lead songwriter and guitarist, decided he could no longer work alongside Liam.

Despite past rivalry, the brothers announced an unexpected 2025 tour in August, 19 years after the band went on hiatus. Liam recently tweeted that fans complaining about ticket prices should “SHUT UP.”
