Cardi B shared in an Instagram Live that she had another round of butt injections removed earlier this year in January.

In a December 2022 Instagram Live, Cardi B disclosed that she had “95%” of her biopolymers (silicone shots she previously shared she got for $800 in 2014) removed that August.

At the time, she told her followers, “All I’m going to say is that if you’re young, if you’re 19, 20, 21, and sometimes you’re too skinny, and you be like ‘OMG, I don’t have enough fat to put in my a–,’ so you result to a– shots, b—- don’t f——g do it!”

In her Instagram Live, Cardi B said, “In January, right after I shot ‘Like What,’ I went and got surgery. I got more butt injections removed. Because, you know, it takes rounds to get your butt injections removed. I got some of my butt injections removed, and I also went to fix, like, you know, certain things [with] my fibrosis.”

A rare celebrity who has been honest about her plastic surgery procedures, Cardi B previously shared she’d gotten breast implants, liposuction and rhinoplasty. When she had her daughter Kulture in 2019, she was forced to cancel several performances due to her extended need to recover from the birth.

Cardi B noted in her Instagram Live that she was nervous her second daughter, Wave, 3, would have complications due to her previous operations, but, according to her, the baby came out “perfect.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a safety communication in 2017 that “injectable silicone used for body contouring is not FDA-approved and can cause serious side effects that may be permanent or may even lead to death.”

Such side effects can include scarring, tissue death, strokes, infections, permanent disfigurement, and, in extreme cases, death. Complications can occur anywhere between the first few weeks to years later.

In August, Cardi B filed for divorce from husband, rapper Offset, after giving birth to their third child together.
