Pop star Chappell Roan canceled her performance at the All Things Go Festival in New York City this weekend, citing mental health challenges.

The singer announced via Instagram on Friday, saying, “Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it.”

“I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health,” she continued. “I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible. Thank you for understanding.”

Roan, who has risen to fame within the past year, has been increasingly vocal about her stances on various issues in recent weeks. Last month, she told The Guardian that she would be voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election after proclaiming that “there’s problems on both sides” of the aisle.

This summer, Roan criticized certain fans who she felt were invasive of her privacy. She shared two videos to TikTok detailing instances of being followed and harassed. She also said that her family was being “stalked.”

“I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous,” Roan said. “It’s weird how people think that you know a person because you see them online and you listen to the art they make… I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior, okay?”
