Paris Hilton Defends Herself After Fans Express Alarm Over Safety Of Her Toddler On Boat Without A Life Jacket
Paris Hilton responded to fan concerns Thursday after posting a video of her young son on a boat without a life jacket.
Hilton, 43, shared footage on TikTok Wednesday showing her 19-month-old son, Phoenix, exploring a large catamaran. The toddler, dressed in a burgundy outfit, was seen walking around the vessel’s deck and netting areas.
The video quickly garnered attention, with many viewers expressing worry about the child’s safety on the water. Comments on the post urged Hilton to ensure her son wears a life jacket while aboard the boat.
“Safety should always come first, especially with little ones on the water,” one user wrote. Another added, “Accidents can happen in an instant. Please consider using a life jacket.”
Hilton addressed these concerns in a follow-up statement Thursday, assuring fans that she and her husband, Carter Reum, were closely supervising their son during the outing.
“I appreciate the advice and care for my children,” Hilton wrote. “We’re watching Phoenix like hawks and following his every move on the boat. My children are my world.”
The original video shows Phoenix in good spirits, smiling as he explores different areas of the catamaran. At one point, the toddler can be heard saying “Mama” as he navigates some steps.
Hilton and Reum are also parents to a 9-month-old daughter, London. The couple frequently shares glimpses of their family life on social media, with Hilton often referring to her children as her “Cutesie Crew.”
As the summer boating season continues, child safety experts remind families to always use properly fitted life jackets for children on or near the water, regardless of swimming ability or boat size.
