Shannen Doherty, the actress known for her roles in iconic television shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed, has recently revealed the extent of her ongoing health struggles and the financial consequences she faces.

To secure her financial stability, Doherty has filed a motion for temporary spousal support from her estranged husband, Kurt Iswarienko.

The actress, 53, who has battled with recurrent metastasized brain cancer since 2019, has undergone a multitude of treatments, including brain surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and experimental protocols. Despite initial progress, Doherty’s latest treatment was ineffective, and she had to undergo brain surgery in January 2023.

Last year, she shared that the cancer had spread to her bones

In her emotional declaration, Doherty expressed, “As a result of my recurrent health issues, I have been largely unable to work and have no future employment prospects.” This has significantly impacted her financial situation, as most of her current income is from residual payments for her work on the television series Charmed, which is set to be removed from major streaming platforms by June 30.

Doherty’s request for spousal support is $15,434 per month, including a forensic accountant and $9,100 in legal fees. The actress has attributed her need for financial assistance to the disparity in earnings between herself and Iswarienko.

According to Doherty’s declaration, Iswarienko, a successful professional photographer, has earned several million dollars per year in the later years of their marriage, with an average annual income of $672,916 over the last three years. In contrast, Doherty’s average yearly earnings for the same period were $259,708.

The actress also highlighted the couple’s lavish lifestyle while married, which included a $6 million home in Malibu, a $1.7 million residence in Texas and frequent travels on their Mooney M-20 airplane. However, since Doherty’s inability to work, she claims that Iswarienko has wasted thousands of dollars on personal expenses and an aircraft. Still, she claims he says he does not have the funds to support her.
