Conspiracy Theorist Alex Jones Sobs On Air After Claiming Government Is ‘Trying To Shut Down InfoWars’

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones sobbed live on-air on a segment of his show. Jones, 50, is known as the owner of the far-right website InfoWars and his self-titled show, The Alex Jones Show, where he has spread numerous conspiracy theories. Jones has faced several lawsuits over his views on the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Over the past few years, Jones has claimed that the shooting was staged. He has called the incident “a giant hoax” and that “no one died” as it was “completely fake with actors.” After facing years of harassment by his fans, parents of the Sandy Hook shooting victims have sued Jones for defamation.

On the Saturday segment of his show, Jones became emotional as he claimed the government was trying to shut down the InfoWars website. Jones said federal agents received documents accusing Jones of committing crimes, leading to the shutdown of his studio and website.

The site published news of the alleged shutdown, guiding viewers to Jones’ “emergency Saturday broadcast.” The show’s headline read, “Breaking News: The federal government is attempting to shut down InfoWars and seize Alex Jones’s studio.”

Jones then went on a tirade on-air before breaking down in tears. “I’ve been under attack,” he said. “I’ve been gaslit. I’ve had secret federal files on me that I’m committing crimes, referred to the justice department. Which, of course, wasn’t true; it was already filed in federal court months before.”

“You want f—— war, you f—— got it!” Jones yelled at one point.

As of Monday, the InfoWars website is still running. No federal agents have reported to Jones’ studio in Dallas nor is the building locked up, as Jones also alleged. Jones, however, said guards were “looking at me weird.”

In December, Jones offered a settlement of $5.5 million per year for 10 years to the families of the Sandy Hook victims. The $55 million total is only 3% of the initial $1 billion awarded by the jury.
