After Robert De Niro Roasts Him In Courthouse Speech, Trump Calls Actor A ‘Wacko’
Former President Donald Trump has lashed out at acclaimed actor Robert De Niro and branded him as “pathetic” and a “wacko” in the aftermath of De Niro’s scathing remarks against Trump outside a Manhattan courthouse.
Trump’s late-night tirade on Truth Social came in response to De Niro’s own blistering criticism, where the Oscar-winning actor accused Trump of wanting to destroy the world. De Niro, who has been a vocal critic of Trump for years, said in prepared remarks on Tuesday, “I owe this city a lot. And that’s why it’s so weird that Donald Trump is just across the street because he doesn’t belong in my city. I don’t know where he belongs, but he certainly doesn’t belong here. We New Yorkers used to tolerate him when he was just another grubby real estate hustler masquerading as a big shot.”
Trump ridiculed De Niro: “I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was. Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there.” Trump added, “Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio!!!”
The tense exchange came after De Niro’s chaotic press conference, which was disrupted by hecklers and a car alarm. The event featured the Biden campaign’s communications director, Michael Tyler, who labeled Trump a “chaos agent,” as well as former law enforcement officers Michael Fanone and Harry Dunn, who were critical of Trump’s conduct surrounding the January 6th Capitol riot.
The Trump campaign, in turn, held a separate press conference, with senior adviser Steven Cheung accusing the Biden campaign of “election interference of the highest order” and claiming that they are in “complete freakout mode.”
