Security Guard Hospitalized After Shooting Incident Near Drake’s Toronto Home

A shooting incident that occurred outside rapper Drake‘s Toronto residence resulted in a security guard, identified as one of Drake’s personnel, being hospitalized with severe injuries. 

The incident occurred at approximately 2:09 a.m. on Tuesday in the Bridle Path neighborhood on Park Lane Circle, later confirmed to be Drake’s expansive 50,000-square-foot mansion in the North York area.

Upon reports of a shooting at the residence, police promptly responded to the scene. Inspector Paul Krawczyk, a member of the gun and gang task force, revealed in a news conference that law enforcement discovered a man with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was swiftly transported to the hospital, where he stayed to receive treatment for his serious injuries.

The suspect responsible for the shooting fled the scene in a vehicle and remains at large. Authorities have been unable to provide a detailed description of the suspect at this time. It is also unclear whether Drake was at home when the incident occurred.

Representatives for Drake have chosen not to comment on the matter. Paramedics, however, confirmed that Drake himself was not the victim of the shooting. They further added that the security guard’s injuries are not expected to be fatal. As a result, Drake’s Toronto mansion has become the focal point of a police investigation. 

Local reports indicate that the streets leading to the residence have been closed off, and patrol cars were stationed in the area on Tuesday morning.

In recent news, Drake has been engaged in a highly publicized rap feud with Los Angeles-based rapper Kendrick Lamar. The exchange between the two artists involved several diss tracks, with personal jabs that targeted each other’s families and personal lives. Lamar released three songs that criticized Drake and incorporated an aerial photograph of Drake’s Toronto residence as the artwork for one of the tracks, titled “Not Like Us.” Drake responded to Lamar’s provocation with his own track, “The Heart Pt. 6,” released on May 5.

In February, Drake won $1 million for a Super Bowl bet on the Chiefs.
