Hootie & The Blowfish Singer Darius Rucker Arrested In Tennessee On Drug Charge

Hootie & the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker was arrested in Tennessee for a misdemeanor drug charge.

The charges include two counts of simple possession and casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of vehicle registration law violation.

Rucker was taken into the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. The 57-year-old singer was released an hour after his arrest on a $10,500 bond. Details leading up to the arrest are unclear, though authorities claimed Rucker had expired tags on his car. When his car was stopped, officers smelled weed on his breath and found 14 unmarked purple pills.

Rucker’s attorney stated, “Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.”

Rucker was recently given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December 2023. He was accompanied by his three kids, whom he mentioned in a speech.
