Actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, and his long-term girlfriend Abby Champion have announced their engagement in the holiday season.

The couple took to Instagram to share their news with the world. Their joint Instagram post was filled with love and excitement as they exclaimed, “💍❤️FOREVER AND EVER ❤️💍,” accompanied by a collection of photos that appeared to capture a beach proposal.

One heart-melting image showcased Schwarzenegger’s kiss on his fiancée’s cheek, while she proudly displayed her double-diamond engagement ring. Other snapshots portrayed the couple in passionate embraces and kisses on the sandy shore, surrounded by a heart-shaped arrangement of vibrant red roses. They also provided a glimpse of a celebratory cake adorned with a delightful photo of their radiant faces.

Schwarzenegger and Champion’s romantic journey began in September 2015 when they were first linked. They made their relationship Instagram official in February 2016, when Champion, a 26-year-old model, shared a photo of the couple, their arms entwined.

Over the years, Schwarzenegger and Champion have shared glimpses of their love story on social media, which allowed their fans to witness their profound connection. On Champion’s 25th birthday last year, Schwarzenegger took to Instagram to declare his deep affection.

“I love this girl so much,” he said. He accompanied his heartfelt message with a carousel of cherished photos that depicted the couple’s shared moments.

Schwarzenegger continued to shower Champion with admiration and acknowledged her exceptional qualities on multiple occasions. For instance, on Schwarzenegger’s own birthday in September, Champion reciprocated the love by posting a touching tribute, expressing, “Happy birthday patch @patrickschwarzenegger. Love you so much 🤍.”

Schwarzenegger playfully reminisced about their first date in 2021, and highlighted Champion’s unique food choices. In an Instagram post that celebrated Champion’s 24th birthday, he jovially remarked, “I knew we would hit it off from the moment we had our first date & you ordered off the kids menu!!”

While Schwarzenegger and Champion have established successful individual careers, they have also collaborated on various ad campaigns and photoshoots. Notably, they starred together in the Calvin Klein Jeans campaign in Fall 2019 and graced the pages of Vogue in a November 2022 fashion spread. Schwarzenegger expressed his delight with the magazine images on Instagram, and stated, “Great photos with my love @abbychampion.”

Speaking to E! News in 2019, Schwarzenegger expressed his gratitude for Champion’s support throughout his career. He emphasized the importance of being each other’s cheerleaders in a relationship, and said, “I always say that in a relationship, you have to be each other’s biggest cheerleader. Build each other up. And she does that for me.”

Despite the occasional challenges of spending time apart due to work commitments, Schwarzenegger revealed the strength of their bond and their ability to overcome any distance. In an interview with the outlet in November 2022, he expressed, “We love each other and it’s okay when she goes away for a week or I go away for a month filming… We’re moving and I feel very fortunate to be able to be together and live together.”

Last year the couple appeared to together at the premiere of Schwarzenegger’s Prime series, The Terminal List.
