Former President Donald Trump took to his social media site Truth Social to rage against NBC News and MSNBC.

He pledged he would have them investigated for “country-threatening treason.”

Trump has long criticized the media, before and after his time in office. As Trump faces four criminal indictments, his typical hatred for the press has turned to threats.

On Truth Social, Trump threatened to have MSNBC and NBC News’ parent company Comcast investigated for “treason.” He went on to criticize the two news organizations for their investigation into whether or not Russia influenced the 2016 election and claimed it was a “big campaign contribution” to the Democrats.

He went on to say that such media companies should not be “entitled to use the very valuable Airwaves of the USA” for free.

Trump stated, “[NBC and MSNBC] are the true threat to Democracy and are, in fact, THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! The Fake News Media should pay a high price for what they have done to our once great Country.”

Trump recently gave an interview on NBC’s Meet the Press where he stated it was his decision to call the election was “rigged” against him, and he relied on his own instincts to reach that conclusion.

No evidence of widespread voter fraud has ever been produced by Trump and his allies. In fact, Trump’s own cybersecurity adviser said the election was the safest U.S. election ever.

When asked by Kristen Welker why he disregarded his attorneys’ advice, Trump responded, “I didn’t respect them…In many cases, I didn’t respect them. But I did respect others. I respected many others that said the election was rigged.”

Legal experts have been quick to point out that these comments would undermine any possible defense from Trump that he was ill-advised by lawyers to continue to challenge the defeat.

Trump declared in his statement on Truth Social, “I say up front, openly, and proudly, that when I WIN the Presidency of the United States, they and others of the LameStream Media will be thoroughly scrutinized for their knowingly dishonest and corrupt coverage of people, things, and events.”

Trump has confused people in speeches multiple times in recent days. Last week, he repeatedly confused members of the Bush family during a speech in South Carolina.
