Matthew McConaughey Allows Son Levi McConaughey To Join Instagram For 15th Birthday

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves McConaughey announced on Instagram that one of their birthday gifts to their 15-year-old son Levi McConaughey is allowing him to join Instagram. 

The two posted a video where Matthew started off by saying, “Hey, buddy, your mama’s a little nervous today about one of the gifts we are giving you.” Camila nodded in agreement saying, “I am. I’m a little nervous.” 

They continued to announce, “Yes, we are allowing you, Levi, today on your 15th birthday, to join the social media universe.”

Matthew commented that they have “been preparing for this, talking about it for three years now.”

Additionally, Matthew praised his son and let all their fans know that “You’re getting a very cool and respectful young man in Levi McConaughey coming at you. I hope you all can do your best to treat him the same way.”

The couple ended the video by giving their son advice. “Levi, enjoy the adventure,” his dad said. “Enjoy sharing your story, expressing yourself and what you put out there and the exchange you get with people out there.” 

Levi commented on his parent’s post, “Mamma and Papai thank you!! 🙌”

After the announcement, Levi immediately joined Instagram and shared a video he created introducing himself. 

He started the video by saying, “Hi. I’m Levi.” The video was paired with the song Walking on a Dream by Empire of the Sun and his father’s voice saying, “Let me tell you this. The older you do get the more rules they’re gonna try to get you to follow. You just gotta keep living man. L. I. V. I. N.”

The video consisted of clips and pictures of Levi surfing and snowboarding, him with his family, cooking and more. He captioned his Instagram debut, “happy to be here.” 

Levi has also figured out how to use Instagram stories. He reposted a reel on his story that his mom shared of him as a child talking about his cameo in his father’s film Interstellar. Levi commented, “Mamma!!! 🤦😂😂😂” He additionally posted Matthew’s reaction to the video writing, “That’s show biz baby 😜.”
