As Weight Loss Rumors Swirl, Jessica Simpson Feels Vindicated After ‘Newlyweds’ Clip Shows Her Side Of Life With Nick Lachey

Fans are finally hearing Jessica Simpson‘s side, 17 years after her divorce from Nick Lachey.

An old clip of the reality show Newlyweds, featuring then-married couple Simpson and Lachey, recently resurfaced. 

The video shows the Dukes of Hazzard actress and Love Is Blind host sitting at a table arguing over decorating their house. 

“There’s always something f—ing wrong with whatever I do,” Lachey mumbles. 

As their argument continues, Lachey calls Simpson a “spoiled brat” various times. 

Over the years, Simpson has frequently been called a “dumb blonde,” while Lachey was regarded as the perfect husband in the 2000s reality show. 

“We owe Jessica Simpson an apology,” a user commented. 

“Wow… this hits differently watching now as a married adult,” another said. 

“Idk if he should be hosting a show about finding love,” a third wrote.

In response to the TikTok commenters, Simpson told Bustle, “It’s amazing what publicity can do.” 

She also suggested that her personality has stayed the same and that the Newlyweds show portrayed her exactly as she is. 

“I’m still that person,” she said. “Honestly, if Eric told me I had to do all the laundry, I would still throw it over the banister and throw a hissy fit.”

Simpson is now married to former NFL Player Eric Johnson. They tied the knot in 2014 and have three children: Maxwell, 11, Ace, 10 and Birdie Mae, 4. 

Lachey, on the other hand, has been married to actress Vanessa Minnillo for nearly 12 years, and are co-hosts of Love Is Blind. They also have three kids: Camden, 10, Brooklyn, 8 and Phoenix, 6. 

Meanwhile, fans continue to voice concern over Simpson’s dramatic weight loss.
