Lizzo Responds To Kanye West’s Offensive Comments About Her
Lizzo seemed to respond to Kanye West‘s recent offensive comments about her during her Friday night show in Toronto.
The night after West made rude remarks about the “About Damn Time” singer’s weight during a Tucker Carlson Tonight appearance, Lizzo pleaded with her adoring crowd to let her stay in Canada.
“Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?” she joked.
The Grammy winner vented, “I feel like everybody in America got my motherf—ing name in their motherf—ing mouth for no motherf—ing reason.” She added, “I’m minding my fat, black, beautiful business!”
Lizzo was likely referencing West’s October 6 fatphobic rant about her to Tucker Carlson.
“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots — that’s a term for like telemarketer callers on Instagram — they attack her for losing weight because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy,” he claimed to Carlson.
West’s hot take only got more horrendous from there.
The Donda rapper continued, “Let’s get aside the fact of whether it’s fashion and vogue, which it’s not. Or if someone thinks it’s attractive, to each his own. It’s actually clinically unhealthy, and for people to, to promote that… it’s demonic.”
When Carlson asked the rapper about why fat body types are (supposedly) encouraged nowadays, West responded, “It’s a genocide of the black race. They want to kill us in any way they can.”
Lizzo is one of many folks who are angry at West right now.
He’s currently banned on Instagram and restricted on Twitter following some egregious anti-Semitic comments, including a threat to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”
The rapper also caused quite a stir with his blatantly racist “White Lives Matter” T-shirt at Paris Fashion Week.
