Eric Weinberg, a TV writer best known as a writer/producer on Scrubs, has been formally charged with 18 criminal counts involving alleged sexual assaults of five women. Prosecutors announced the charges on Wednesday. Weinberg was arrested on Tuesday and released the same day on a $5 million bond.
He has been charged with multiple charges including rape, oral copulation, sexual battery restraint, false imprisonment by use of violence and even more charges stemming from the sexual assaults of five women between the years of 2014 and 2019.

The Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón announced the charges, and also indicated that they had reason to believe there were more victims dating back to the 1990s. Anyone with knowledge of Weinberg’s crimes, and other victims especially, were encouraged to come forward with their stories.
The writer allegedly lured young women to his Los Angeles home under the guise of doing a photo shoot, and exploited his Hollywood credits on Scrubs and many other shows like Californication and Men At Work to impress and mislead his victims.
Weinberg has been investigated by the LAPD on prior occasions, but they hadn’t turned up enough evidence to bring charges forward. A few of these allegations were referenced in his 2020 divorce, according to court documents.
He is due back in court for an arraignment on October 25.
