Big Boi Shows Off Pet Owl, Hootie, In Recording Studio
Some artists bring friends, vocal coaches, or their preferred snack or beverage into the recording. However, the legendary rapper Big Boi brought a different kind of special guest in the studio, and that was his pet owl, Hootie.
Big Boi is known best as a former member of the legendary group OutKast that he formed with André 3000, which saw so much success in the 2000s that he could probably buy a thousands birds of prey if he wanted to.
In a video he shared on Twitter, the rapper showed his gorgeous owl off, who was perched on his hand which had on a thick protective leather glove.
He also provided a quick blurb on owl’s sleeping habits if you want to be educated too.
“The bird is sleepy in the daytime, which is pretty much natural because she is nocturnal,” Big Boi said before encouraging her to spread her wings.
Some people may take issue with a rapper having an exotic pet like this, but as long as he isn’t taking cues out of Joe Exotic‘s playbook and adopting a bunch of tigers or lions, what’s the harm in just one owl?
Big Boi and André 3000 parted ways as OutKast after their album Idlewild in 2007. Big Boi has continued recording albums and had several critically-acclaimed releases starting with Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty in 2010.
