Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause Dedicates Her DWTS Performance To Her Late Parents
Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause has dedicated her moving Dancing with the Stars performance to “Stars” by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals to her late parents. Her father died of cancer in April 2019, and her mother died just this July.
“They were really loving people,” Stause said. “Right before I dance, I really feel [my mom] call me, encourage me. That has been the most special thing that I will take away from this show. I know my parents are with me. My mom’s name was Ranae Stause and my dad’s name was Jeff Stause. This dance is for them.”

“I felt my parents with me last night and that’s a priceless feeling I will absolutely never forget,” Strause wrote.
Strause also showed her support for the organization Stand Up to Cancer, which is dedicated to cancer research and finding a cure.

“I Stand Up for them and all families affected by cancer. I’m proud to support @SU2C to help further their mission of turning every cancer patient into a long-term survivor.
The dance earned Stause her highest score from the judges in her time on the show – a 24 out of 30.
In November 2019, between the deaths of her parents, Stause also divorced her husband at the time, Justin Hartley. She opened up about her loss of her parents compared to her divorce in a People interview.
“It’s almost an ungrievable loss,” she said. “The other loss [divorce], you can slowly recover and get over,” she said. “This one just feels like I’m adapting, as opposed to getting over it.”
