Just hours after Kamala Harris was announced as Joe Biden’s running mate on Tuesday, Sarah Palin posted her congratulations to Instagram, giving Harris her vice presidential-nominee survival tips from woman to woman.

In the post, Palin recounted her experience as the late Sen. John McCain’s running mate in 2008. Palin was only the second woman ever chosen to be a running mate on a major party ticket; Geraldine Ferraro was the first, chosen to be the number two on the 1984 Democratic ticket led by former VP Walter Mondale.

Palin began her post by saying, “Congrats to the Democratic VP pick! Climb upon Geraldine Ferraro’s and my shoulders, and from the most amazing view in your life, consider lessons we learned.”

Her first piece of advice was, “Out of the chute trust no one new.” Palin herself had a few well-publicized disagreements with McCain’s staff members.

“Don’t get muzzled – connect with media and voters in your own unique way,” Palin continued. “Some yahoos running campaigns will suffocate you with their own self-centered agenda, so remember YOU were chosen for who YOU are.”

Palin ended her post saying, “have fun! This IS the greatest country in the world and hopefully you’ll be blessed beyond belief, like I was, with meeting new people from all walks of life and see just how great it is!”

She also promised “more to come… including one of the funniest things in my life, right before my debate with Sen. Joe Biden… stay tuned!”
