‘Tiger King’ Star Carole Baskin Sued By Family Of Missing Husband Don Lewis
Tiger King star Carole Baskin is facing a lawsuit from the family of her late husband who she claimed disappeared in 1997. Baskin said her ex-husband Don Lewis vanished after leaving his home in Tampa, Florida a day before leaving for a trip to Costa Rica. Lewis’ body has never been found but was declared legally dead in 2002.
Lewis’ family is offering a $100,000 reward for information that might lead to determining what happened to him. The family’s lawyer, John Phillips, said the family will conduct an independent investigation, and he will seek to depose Baskin.
After the release of Netflix’s Tiger King series in which Baskin is featured, there have been countless conspiracy theories about what really happened to Lewis. When Lewis and Baskin were together, they opened an animal sanctuary in Tampa, Florida which then became Big Cat Rescue.
Lewis’s family has put up billboards across the Tampa-area asking for information in a plea to determine the real story.
Throughout all of this, Baskin has refused to comments directly on the investigation. She still owns the Big Cat Rescue.
