Idris Elba announced he had tested positive for coronavirus on Monday on Twitter.

“This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing,” he wrote in a Tweet. “No panic.”

The tweet includes a video where the Luther actor appears with his wife Sabrina Dhowre.

“I’m doing okay, Sabrina hasn’t been tested and she’s doing okay,” he said in the video. “I didn’t have any symptoms, I got tested because I realized I was exposed to someone who had also tested positive. I found out last Friday that they were tested positive, I quarantined myself, and got a test immediately and got the results back today.”

Elba had posed for a picture with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, at a charity event in London on March 4. She tested positive on Friday, which may be what prompted Elba to get tested.

“If you’re feeling ill, if you feel like you should be tested or you’ve been exposed then do something about it,” he suggested in the video. This advice sounds good, but the number of tests in the United States and United Kingdom is very small. Right now, only those who have severe symptoms or have been in contact with someone who had tested positive can be tested.

“Look, we live in a divided world right now, we can all feel it, it’s been bulls–t, but now’s the time for solidarity now’s the time for thinking about each other.”

The coronavirus has infected at least 173,000 people, and killed more than 7,281 people, worldwide as of Monday.

He signed off the video promising to keep everyone updated on his health. For now he said: “So far we’re feeling okay.”
