VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Jordin Sparks On Upcoming Untitled Album
Jordin Sparks may not yet have a name or release date for her new album, but she is undoubtedly excited to share it with the world.
The 29-year-old R&B singer — who is starring in the Broadway musical Waitress — teased information about her new album in an exclusive discussion with uInterview.
“I’m still working on [the album] and have eight songs in right now,” said Sparks. “I’m hoping I can do a couple more and then round it out and see how we wanna distribute it, whether we cut in half and do five songs here and a couple months later do five songs or do it all at once, I’m not sure.”
“It’s eclectic, like me,” the Grammy nominee added with a smile.
Sparks — whose last studio album Right Here Right Now was released in 2015 — also revealed that her new record will incorporate a wide variety of musical genres, from pop and R&B to country. She also said the untitled project will include several different types of songs, from sad ballads to “power anthems,” and that some tunes recall the pop style of her 2007 debut album, Jordin Sparks.

The singer behind songs like “Tattoo” and “No Air” also said she has some ideas for artists she hopes to collaborate with as part of her new album, although she stopped short of naming anyone in particular.
“I’ve got a list, so we just have to see if I can actually make them happen,” said Sparks, laughing.
Sparks — who in 2007 made history by becoming the youngest American Idol winner at age 17 — will be starring in Waitress through Oct. 27.
Over the weekend, Sparks shared a photo on Instagram of herself posing alongside her husband Danah Isaiah and son Danah Isaiah Jr.:
