Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaskan governor and John McCain‘s 2008 running mate Sarah Palin, has decided to walk away from TV fame. In a post to her Instagram on Tuesday, Palin announced that she was leaving Teen Moms OG, an MTV spin-off show she starred in last season. The show followed now-adult women who had been teen mothers including Palin, who made headlines back in 2008 when she got pregnant at 17 in the midst of her mother’s campaign. Now 27, Palin is the mother to three children – her son Tripp, who was born in 2008, and two children with her now ex-husband Dakota Meyer. Her season on Teen Moms OG focused on her and Meyer’s relationship as it came crashing to an end. They got married in 2016.

In the emotional post, Palin explained that the show “took away my peace.” She reaffirmed her commitment to God and brushed off the money the show was paying her, but nevertheless wished the best to her co-stars.

Back in December, Palin posted a similar rant against the show to her Instagram page, berating the series for showing a “falsified” version of her life. In that post, she called the show “Farrah Abraham / Jerry Springer BS.”
