The officer revived Morasca, who had overdosed on an opioid drug, with the antidote drug Narcan, according to police. A report obtained by the Observer-Reporter said that the reality TV winner became combative on the Jan. 25 event south of Pittsburgh. Police said she bit the officer on her right forearm while in the ambulance.
Police are also investigating if Morasca had been driving under the influence. According to the report, Morasca had been traveling with a passenger in her Chevrolet SUV, who was seen putting a plastic bag of syringes into her purse.
The passenger accompanied Morasca in the ambulance, and when officers asked her for the bag, she refused and denied having one. Officers then removed her purse from her and found the bag, and also had a burnt spoon with a string and cotton balls. They also found another syringe within her wallet. She is expected to be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Morasca was the $1 million winner of Survivor: Amazon in 2003, and police said her license plates read “AMAZON.” She appeared on Survivor: All Stars the following year but quit to be with her dying mother. Her mom died from breast cancer after she returned home. Her father passed away in 2016, and she is an only child.
Following her time on Survivor, Morasca competed on Fear Factor and then joined The Amazing Race with her then-boyfriend, and Survivor season three winner, Ethan Zohn. They later appeared together on the Food Network show Dinner: Impossible and on The Celebrity Apprentice‘s fourth season. The pair split in 2013.
