Are you looking for earphones to help you drone out the noise? If you are in the market for earphones, then you’re probably eyeing Apple’s AirPods, but Sony’s WF-1000X might also be worth your consideration.

SONY WF-1000X REVIEW

The WF-1000X Bluetooth earphones are Sony’s first shot at a completely wireless headphone, and they even offer something the AirPods don’t: active noise cancelation. However, Sony’s latest earphones unfortunately have endured a mixed reception. One significant disappointment would be the lack of water resistance.

Ultimately, one of the most important aspects of any earphone is how firmly do they stay lodged in your ears, and are they comfortable. This can only truly be determined through a test run, but CNET’s reviewer personally thought they fit fine, for example. In total, the WF-1000X’s battery can last for nine hours, three of which account for music playback. The approximate charge time is one-and-a-half hours.

As with countless other devices in this era, Sony’s latest earphones have a companion app for smartphones. Within the Sony I Headphones Connect app, you can adjust the finer points of your aural output, such as the adaptive sound control and how much you can hear ambient background noises. Both earpieces also have a small button on them, with the left one turning the power off or on. Conversely, the right button has different functions, like letting you pause your music.

Sony’s WF-1000X earphones are currently available for $179.99. Moreover, you can choose between gold and black colorations. In addition to the earphones and their carrying charging case, the package also includes a USB cable.
