Meghan Markle will leave Suits after its seventh season, as will her show fiancé Patrick J. Adams.

MEGHAN MARKLE TO LEAVE SUITS AFTER SEASON 7

The show is currently filming the second half of its seventh season. Both stars’ contracts are up after season seven, so neither is obligated to stay.Suits is eyeing a renewal for season eight, but it is unclear where the plot will go with its co-lead Adams gone.

Last year, fellow original Suits cast member Gina Torres left the show as a regular but has returned for a few guest spots. A spin-off series is in talks with Torres as the lead. Show creator Aaron Korsh understands that after seven years of commitment, his actors are bound to leave.

“They all have things going on in their lives, we’ll see what happens. This is true on all long-running shows, and people have things happening in their lives,” Korsh said. “When Gina left, I could not have predicted that the way her life was going. She loved being on the show, and we loved having her on the show, that’s why we’re doing the spinoff. I would never have guessed that she would want to leave early but she did, and it ended up working out. Even though she left early, look at how often we still see Jessica throughout season six and seven. I’m going to let what happens happens and hope it all works out.”

Markle has been dating Prince Harry for over a year, and engagement rumors are already circling the famous couple. Speculation had been building that Markle would leave Suits to spend more time with her royal beau.

The Canadian actress opened up about her relationship with the prince in Vanity Fair earlier this year. The couple has been notoriously quiet about their relationship. “We’re a couple, we’re in love,” she said. “I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.”
