Taylor Swift just dropped an attention-grabbing music video for her new song “…Ready For It,” a track on her new album Reputation, set for release on Nov. 10.

This new song is nothing like her previous music – it’s more upbeat and doesn’t recall her soft country love ballots.

Joseph Kahn directed the music video just like he’s done before with several of Swift’s other videos. There’s a dark, sci-fi theme with strong Tron and Blade Runner vibes. The director notes that, “half the video is in Chinese.” Fans that have watched and re-watched the video carefully have pointed out Kahn’s name in Chinese and have even started putting together “decoders” for the music video.

“UR Gorgeous,” “All Eyes On Us,” “I Love You In Secret” and “This Is Enough” are scribbled on the walls in the video and fans can’t help but read these as clues. “Gorgeous” is the title of a new song Swift is releasing as part of her new album

Fans also loved the mysterious hooded Swift freeing the cyborg version of herself. Some have viewed this as the singer “declaring her independence” from who society, especially the media criticism of her. A fan on Twitter noted, “What I learned from #ReadyForItMusicVideo is that in order to be free you must defeat your own self.”
