Aaron Rajman, Only Orthodox Jewish MMA Fighter, Killed During Home Invasion

Aaron Rajman, who was reportedly the only Orthodox Jewish MMA fighter, was killed during a home invasion on Monday night. He was 25-years-old.

The intruders shot Rajman fatally after entering his home in Boca Raton, Florida. According to the Palm Beach County sheriff’s office, a fight broke out in the home after they entered. After killing Rajman the criminals fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction. Their motives are currently unknown, as well.

Rajman was raised in South Florida as an Orthodox Jew and proudly brought his faith into the ring. He would enter the arena before a fight wearing tzitzit and a yarmulke.

He began his career as amateur fighter in Florida, winning eight fights and losing one. He made his professional MMA debut three years ago and had a career record of 2-2, according to the BBC.

The Facebook page for the MMA South Florida community posted pictures from Rajman’s early years with the group and gave him their condolences.

“The world lost another warrior today. R.I.P. Aaron Rajman. You will be missed,” one of their posts read.

“It was a pleasure knowing him and being able to follow his career. Definitely a kind soul who was taken way too soon,” read another.

A GoFund Me account was created in support of Rajman’s funeral. The account was set up with a $20,000 goal, which it reached in less than 24 hours. At the time of writing, the account has raised over $26,000 after being online for two days.
