Where To Celebrate National Fried Chicken Day

July 6 marks National Fried Chicken Day, and various places are holding specials for the food. Even without the deals, today would be a great day to delve into some of the best fried chicken in the country.

NATIONAL FRIED CHICKEN DAY

As long as you’re willing to stop by a chain, KFC and Popeyes are the places to be. Popeyes is offering a 10 piece Bonafide Chicken meal with two large sides and five biscuits for just $10. Similarly, KFC is offering a $10 share bucket, which includes tenders, popcorn chicken, and more.

Church’s Chicken is celebrating with a 10-piece leg and thigh combo for $12.99 (with coupon code 1730). Carrabba’s Italian Grill is offering a free gift with any order of chicken Bryan, chicken marsala, or pollo Rosa Maria. Del Taco is offering three grilled chicken tacos for $2.99 between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dominos is giving away large, two-topping pizzas plus 14 pieces of chicken for $19.99 with code 5851.

In Atlanta, check out South City Kitchen, Busy Bee Cafe, or Chick-a-Biddy. The Publix grocery store chain also offers some tasty chicken. You can also, of course, stop by Chick-Fil-A or Zaxby’s. At the airport, you can enjoy friend chicken and pecan waffles from Ludacris’ Chicken + Beer restaurant.

Austin, Texas, has some good eats as well. Try Top Notch, a ’50s-style drive-in. Mrs. P’s Electric Cock also features delicious fried chicken in a funky atmosphere. Other spots include Max’s Win Dive and Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken.

In Los Angeles, Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles is your best bet. And you might even run into a celebrity or two. Other hot spots for the dish is Howlin’ Ray’s and Crawfords.

Nashville offers some great tasting fried chicken as well, including the famous hot chicken at Prince’s Hot Chicken. Hattie B’s and Acme Feed & Seed are solid choices as well.

And New Orleans, of course, has an array of options as well. Copeland’s will be celebrating with their annual Chicken Jam, a benefit to help the Al Copeland Foundation. The Original Fiorella’s Cafe and Willie Mae’s Scotch House are two more top-notch fried chicken joints to check out.
