Alex Trebek Rapped Kanye West and Drake Songs On ‘Jeopardy!’
Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek showed off his rapping chops on the show Monday night by precisely delivering the lyrics to hit rap songs by Kanye West, Drake, Desiigner, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar.
Alex Trebek Flaunts Rapping Abilities
In the segment dedicated to the category “Let’s Rap Kids!”, the 76-year-old host channeled Lil Wayne with “6′ 7′ 8′ bunch… young money militia & I am the commissioner, you don’t want to start Weezy, ’cause the F is for finisher.” He then did an entertaining rendition of Desiigner’s “Panda,” artistically chanting, “panda, panda, panda, panda.”
When Trebek finished, he told an amused and confused panel: “I was just getting into this rap thing. I’m not too good at it but I was getting into it.”
The social media crowd responded fervently. A clip of the host’s rapping segment was shared on Twitter by social media producer Kenny Ducey, and has received more than 20,000 retweets by the next morning. Check out the post below:
This is not the first time Trebek has flaunted his lyrical talents; in 2014, the host read lyrics from Beastie Boys, Grandmaster Flash, among others, in the category called “It’s a Rap.”
