Ed Sheeran Returns To Social Media On Eve Of New Singles’ Release

Ed Sheeran is back on social media teasing two new singles that were released yesterday at midnight.

The singer took a hiatus from all social media accounts, citing wanting to see the world away from his smart phone screen. He returned exactly one year later on Dec. 3, posting a cryptic photo of just the color blue, clearly a hint at his newest project. Sheeran has been working on his third album, and has declared it “is the best thing I have made thus far.”

Then every day of the new year, the singer has posted a quick teaser for his new album, finally resulting in clips of two new songs, “Castle on the Hill” and “Shape of You.” He even posted a few song lyrics for them as well.

Finally last night, Sheeran released a 10 second mashup of his two songs, one with an upbeat marimba style, the other much more dramatic.
